Be real, choose true and give everything you've got:

Consider for a moment, the place
Where idealism and realism meet,
Where our bold and shameless desire for the "good"
Is no longer separate from the realism
Of accepting what is immediately before us.

This place is now,
And now is the time to get real,
Choose true
And give everything we've got.

If we are only idealistic
And give no thought to what's real and possible here and now
Then we're only dreamers with our heads in the clouds.
But what's even worse is to abandon our ideals,
In the name of "getting real",
For this leaves us cynical, bitter, and reluctant to do anything.

Nowadays, it may seem cool to be cynical,
But this attitude ends up killing our passion and thus
Our power, to live freely and effect change in our world.
After all, our desire for goodness, wholeness, and truth
Is actually an evolutionary pull
Towards a fuller expression of what-is
Not a different one.

Accepting MORE of what-is
Is actually freedom itself,
The freedom to be fully, here and now.

So be real, choose true and to give fully
From this truth NOW.
This is what creativity is all about.
It's also what life is all about
Should we choose to live it consciously.
